What Is A Leaf Blower?
Depending on your needs and what you are searching for a leaf blower can work for you. They come in all shapes and sizes. When you need to blow away that debris or those leaves that fall off the tree, this is the instrument you need to get the job done right.
We will try to touch on some of the different kinds of blowers available in the market today. One is the backpack blower. You wear this right on your back just like a backpack. It is small and compact and light. This is perfect if you have a large yard but cannot use a larger more traditional blower.
When it comes to more traditional, one that comes to mind is the gas blower. Instead of electricity this one uses gas. You have to carry this one in the hand though so it could be a bit heavy for you if you have a lot of yard work or a huge yard. Keep those things in mind.
For those quick fix jobs there are handheld cordless blowers available. This would be handy for those who just need a quick fix between seasons. Now when you are doing the whole yard with mowing, etc., this may not be enough. But again, this could depend on the actual size of the yard or job.
One of the easier ones to maintain according to some homeowners is the electrical blower. You need an outlet, preferably one that is close enough to where you are working. This is not like the cordless one above. You will need electrical power while doing the entire job. If you unplug it, it will not work. So keep that in mind when choosing this kind. Check the parameter of the house and see if you have outlets within reach.
You may also want to check the noise levels of the different types of blowers. Some will be noisier than others. It will not depend on size either. Just because it is big does not necessarily means it will be any noisier than its smaller counterpart. This will be a step in the right direction to keeping any neighbors happy and the noise level at a minimum, especially if they are not nice neighbors.
You do not need to keep up with the joneses. Buy the blower that is made for you. If you only need a small one, get that. If you need a bigger one, get that one. Just because this one is a beauty, does not mean you need it. Keep within budget. Know that whichever one you pick you will have to maintain it. Be sure you can do that. Do not get something you cannot keep up. Do not leave it sitting out in the elements either. You do not want your investment to rust away.
I say go to the store and try it on for size. Look around and find a leaf blower you think will work and walk around with it. If it is the backpack variety, put it on and see if it comfortable. Do the straps work? Can you adjust for size? Carry some of those bigger models around for a few minutes. If your arms start tingling or hurting, it is probably to much for you to handle. You do not want to get something only to discover you will not be able to do the job. Some of these can be a little heavy.
